The founder has been involved in the outdoor maintenance industry for over 40 years. The founder, Tom, grew up in a very small town[250 population] and started bailing hay at 9. We would cut trees for firewood in the winter.
Tom had a variety of popular businesses before beginning tree work and landscaping full time. Locating in Tampa in the mid 80's after a stint in the Navy, Tom picked this market to operate from, Tampa is awesome!
Tom was tired of seeing people being taken advantage of during thunderstorm or disaster recovery efforts. We opened Toms in the late 80's. A couple years later We bought a crane to learn how to provide disaster recovery and tree removal with this type of equipment. Soon after ABC news at 6pm documented us as one of the first in the industry. Keith Mecca reporting.
Recognizing the magnitude of our industries, we quickly started formatting an entry strategy. By the mid 90's, TT&C was receiving much public recognition [as documentd in our company history].
Toms has been consistently disappointed by consumer horror stories as they pertain to disaster recovery. Way too many people have bad experiences.
